Kalyuka
- This is my version of kalyuka. I improved and simplified its construction, so now it is possible to play on it in a very advanced way. I made it from plastic to increase the durability and decrease its price. In Russia this instrument was usually made from special bush "borshevik" and used only for one season , bacause it was very fragile. But for professional use it's quite inapplicable. Unlike traditional one, this model is highly durable. It's only one instrument i know on which it's possible to play inside the water or at 40-degree frost without losing the technical possibilities. And of course you can use it professionally to perform and record. I play my own kalyuka for 6 years and I'm completely satisfied with it. This is one of my most favorite instruments in my huge collection. I like its simplicity and endless music possibilities!
I build kalyukas in 5 keys. Here you can listen the sound of my kalyuka flutes and choose which one you want to buy. Another keys available by request. Some playing tips: find the base lowest note in open position, than start to overblowing (change the power of blowing) to get different notes, then close the hole on the edge and do the same with it. then try to switch between closed and opened positions and overblowing in the same time. |
Калюка - русская обертоновая флейта Это моя собственная модификация калюки. Я упростил и усовершенствовал ее конструкцию, что значительно расширило технические возможности игры. В качестве материала я использую пластик (ПВХ), чтобы повысить долговечность инструмента и понизить его стоимость. В России этот инструмент обычно делался из борщевика и использовался в течении только одного сезона, т. к. борщевик достаточно хрупок. В отличии от традиционной калюки эта модель чрезвычайно долговечна. Я знаю пока только один инструмент, на котором возможно играть в воде или на 40-градусном сибирском морозе без опастности повредить себя или его и без потери технических возможностей :) И конечно же этот инструмент прекрасно подходит для профессионального использования. Я играю на калюке моей конструкции уже 6 лет и это мой любимый инструмент! Я люблю простоту его конструкции и бесконечные исполнительские возможности. Я не против заимствования моих идей, но прошу изготовителей оставлять линк или упоминать автора. Несмотря на кажующуюся простоту, сделать хорошо звучащий инструмент может только тот, кто умеет на нем хорошо играть. Пока все копии, которые мне удалось попробовать в действии, были недостаточно хороши по качеству на мой вкус. Исключением были несколько последних калюк из бузины работы Макса Брумберга. |

Fujara - the Futuristic Fujara is
made by my friend Max
Brumberg out of highly durable PVC and available for the order.
It's some great news about it: It's collapsible and comes in sets.
It's one part with whistle and joint and two playing tubes in different
tuning. For example when you want to use D fujara you connect D tube,
when you want to play on C fujara you replace it with C tube. And when
you disconnect the part with the holes you have overtone
flute! (Check video for

in one in collapsible
