"Первым выступило трио Владисвара Надишана (вроде как Россия, но давно уже проживает в Берлине) - Армина Метца (Германия) - Стива Шехана (США). Ещё знакомясь накануне с буклетом фестиваля, про себя отметил, что Надишана должен стать главным откровением музыкального события осени. Так оно и оказалось. Владисвар (думаю, псевдоним, равно как и фамилия Надишана) - музыкант-виртуоз, играющий на более, чем 100 инструментах (!!!). Ситар, мандолина, чанзи, бузуки, еврейская арфа (это еще что за голем?), ку ксянь, хомус, морсинг, дарабука, джембе, калангу, уду, кажон, беримбао, бансури, кена, кальюка, гайда, ху-лу-си, дудук, баву, тсаадж нплаим и прочая, и прочая, и прочая. О примитивах вроде клартена, кевала, флейты и саксофона даже не заговариваю. Стив Шехан хоть и появился на свет из любовной связи ирландской девушки и индейца-чероки (бррр!), на поверку оказался не мрачной смесью яростной угрюмости и латентного алкоголизма (это из личного моего опыта общения с отпрысками скальподёрных наций), а бесконечно обаятельным и мягким перкуссионистом с улыбкой парижанина (последнее не удивительно: давно уже живёт во Франции). Басист Армин Метц полностью оправдывает свою фамилию: немецкая непробиваемая флегма, которая в самые неожиданные моменты фонтанирует феерическими эмоциями на грани романтической дурашливости. Charmant, tres tres charmant! "

<p>Steve Shehan, essential composer and percussionist, member of the Hadouk Trio, signs here a new challenge: AWALIN, (my promise), an album born from his encounter with the Tuareg musician Nabil Othmani, son of late great poet of the desert, Baly Othmani. "Awalin" symbolizes the evidence of a continuation, a relay, of the trust of a father reiterated by his son in respect and friendship.&#160; Steve Shehan gave his word, his promise, during his last trip to Djanet as he did throughout his years of collaboration with Nabil??s father. The commitment, the pleasure to continue innovating enable to convey Tuareg culture and oral collective memory, nowadays very compromised by the invasive presence of television. It was a new challenge to highlight the "word", Tuareg poetry by incorporating Nabil Othman??s and Steve Shehan??s creativity together with the taste and vitality of this new generation. Banjo, pedal steel guitar, dobro, classical guitar, duduk, angklung, hang, futujara, hu-lu-si, kaval, dumdum, berimbau, strings, tar, saz, Kamantche, piano, mingle with the sound of the lute and folk guitar, and with a new more African flair that Nabil offers with his sweet and clear voice. </p>  <p>Steve Shehan expresses once again his love of Tuareg music by surrounding himself with modern, electronic, shamanic, Berber, Brazilian, Middle Eastern, Cuban, and especially African movements, bringing together Tuareg culture and the generous universality of music. He is also surrounded by prestigious guests such as Vladiswar Nadishana, Ibrahim Maalouf, Didier Malherbe, Claude Samard, Nono Belkrief, who, beyond their friendship, bring a unique and original flavor.</p>

<p>The outstanding guitarist Ian Melrose chose a frolicsome reference to Jules Vernes's classic novel ???Around The World In 80 Days??? as the title of his new album. The CD is a musical homage to the multicultural flair of his chosen hometown, Berlin, where this sociable Scotsman has lived for 28 years now.This agile acoustic guitarist discovered a virtually endless selection of genres, styles and musical colors right outside his home and merged them into an unusually kaleidoscopic album. Ian Melrose already worked as a valued sideman, author and arranger for artists and bands such as Reinhard Mey, Clannad and Paul Joses. On his new album, he presents Celtic instrumentals, echoes from Africa, Nordic folklore, Indian resonance and the mysterious atmospheres of the Orient. On the way, he picked up traveling companions such as the Turkish baglama virtuoso Taner Akyol, the Hungarian fiddle player Tam??s Szarka, the multi-instrumentalist Vladiswar Nadishana and the Norwegian singer and guitarist Kerstin Blodig. It's fascinating how Ian Melrose ??? also known as the protagonist in projects such as Kelpie, Talking Water and Norland Wind ??? manages to apply his fine fingerstyle guitar playing to create a harmonious dialogue amongst the styles, instruments and tonal colors of a wide variety of cultures.
